Join Champion Public Library for our continuation of reading, discussing and exploring the creative world of Japanese manga and animation with fellow teens who love all things manga and anime will be on Thursday, September 29 at 5:30 p.m. Join us for September’s book club discussion as we dabble into the world of “Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 1” by Hiromu Arakawa. Snacks to be provided by the library.

Breaking the laws of nature is a serious crime!

In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical “auto-mail” limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist seeking the one thing that can restore his and his brother’s bodies… the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.

“We want to encourage teen patrons to gain new perspectives by reading different genres and types of manga they may or may not have picked themselves,” said Marketing/Public Access Specialist Natalie Garrison. “Seeing teens interact and chat with others about their favorite series is something we want to encourage with this book club.”
